Disable Windows Print Notifications

How to turn off the annoying printer notification messages that appears when an event occurs on your printer in Microsoft Windows.

Windows 11 & 10

Windows Print Notification Settings

  1. Select the Start button then chose Settings.
  2. Select Devices.
  3. Select Printers & scanners.
  4. Scroll down to the Related settings section and select the Print server properties link.
  5. Select the Advanced tab.
  6. Uncheck the following boxes:
  7. Click OK.

Windows 8, 7, & Server 2012

Note: This option is not available in the Home versions of Windows.

  1. Press and hold the Windows Key, then press R to bring up the Windows Run dialog box.
  2. Type “printmanagement.msc“, then press Enter.
  3. Expand Printer Servers, then right click the name of the computer and select Printer Server Properties.
  4. Select the Advanced tab.
  5. Uncheck Show Informational Notifications for Local Printers and Show Informational Notifications for Network Printers.

Windows XP

  1. Click the Start >Settings >Printers and Faxes.
  2. Click the File >Server Properties.
  3. Click the Advanced tab.
  4. Uncheck the following boxes:
  5. Click OK.

Now those annoying printer notification warnings should be turned off.
